To see friends that you haven’t seen in years Surely will bring to you joyful tears. The years apart have now been fifty, And it is really a pleasure and quite nifty, To be able to sit at the honored table, Even if we only recognize each other by our nametag label. But we have fond memories of each other, Not unlike a sister or a brother. We were like a big family in our dear school, Each one unique and each in our own way cool. Each feeling a fondness for dear old Corning High, Enjoying this time together as our lives draw neigh. Knowing on this Earth we may never meet again, But for now drawing together as friend with friend. Remembering our classmates from this world departed, But remembering with joy and laughter not broken hearted. Recalling the fun times the good times and even a few tears, Knowing we will join them when we have used our allotted years. Also knowing that in Heaven we could meet again, If we live for GOD and have Jesus’ blood wash away our sin. When this day is over and done and the time together ends, We will depart not just as former classmates but as dear friends. And pledge to try to come back again next year, As we hold sweet memories of Corning High dear. |
